the bones, organs, and tissue structures. Using
the results of nuclear imaging tests, physicians
know not only how patients' bodies look on the
inside, but also how well the patients' organs
and tissue structures are functioning. Nuclear
medicine can create images that show patients'
hearts as they beat or their lungs as they breathe.
