SIMTEC Delivery System FACT SHEET

The SIMTEC® Delivery System provides a safe, verifiable and practical means to deliver conventional, 3-D conformal and intensity modulated treatments by utilizing a fast, sequential delivery technique. By observing visual icons at the control console, the operator can constantly monitor and track every field being delivered.
When a Siemens Linear Accelerator is equipped with SIMTEC for a sequential delivery process, it eliminates the need for walking into and out of the treatment room to rotate the gantry, move the treatment table, or remove or place blocks or wedges.
Segmenting each treatment field into multiple stationary segments simplifies treatment and verification. Each segment is comprised of fixed parameters, thus eliminating the need for dynamic procedures such as gantry rotation and continual movement of MLC leaves during the time that the beam is on.
When configured with the PRIMEVIEW™ Graphical User Interface and SIMTEC Delivery System, the linear accelerator becomes the only fully verifiable linear accelerator on the market to provide fully automated sequential treatments with a visual depiction of what is being treated.
